Yet another night at the Bronze, the crowded dancefloor bobbing and bouncing to the music, the bar regulars ordering their 'usual' and losing themselves to the copious amounts of alcohol they consumed, the groups of friends who would sit back and chill out, simply enjoying the ambience created through the combination of music, drinks, and crowds.
Few would be able to sense the difference in species patroning the club, but to Tanwyn, she could feel botht he good and bad energy spread throughout. The few vampires here she tended to steer clear of, not wishing to come in contact with any of them. It wasn't just the feeling she received from them, but the fact that she knew something might happen if she did happen to come in too much contact with them. She may have lost her past, but there were small things she simply 'knew'. But it didn't matter, because without any memory of who she was before she was found by Poppy, there was no point in getting worked up about the fact that she was different to any other person she'd ever met.
Slipping through the crowds easily, making sure not to bump into people, Tanwyn collected empty glasses that were left laying around the club, her gaze shifting to a corner of the room where a few vampires were congregating. They were stalking prey, watching the crowds for vulnerable people they could pick up and feed from. She sighed but avoided that area of the club as she made her rounds. Though as she neared the bar to take the glasses to the sink, she was halted by an arm moving in front of her to block her way, repelled by the vampiric aura eminating from it.
Tanwyn stepped back from the man as he gave her a wolflike grin, "It always makes me wonder how pretty little things like you get talked into working at dives like this." He moved forward, reaching out to take some of the glasses, but Tanwyn took another step back causing him to chuckle, "Hey, I'm not trying to steal anything, I was just going to help."
"Thank you, but I'm quite capable." Tanwyn spoke spoftly and moved to step around him, but he blocked her path again, still with that predatory smile. "Excuse me, I have work to do."
"I'll let you pass if you agree to come over and sit with me when you finish work." Each time she moved to step around, he would step in her way. She didn't want to be anywhere near him, his aura made her feel completely uncomfortable and she knew fully well his intentions. Growing impatient, he moved quickly, grabbing her upper arm tightly, "I won't take no for an answer." It was going to be a long night, it wasn't often someone wanted to hassle her, tonight must just be an off night.

Paulo collected his things at the bus depot... it had been a long trip from the East Coast, but it'd been well worth it. There was no getting away from one's self over a week-long ride with little food, less water, and no sleep to speak of. It was sort-of an ordeal where one might remake one's self in the crucible of a crowded Greyhound motor carriage.
He checked into the motel near the buses, better he stay near the proverbial exits just in case things went bad here. There were supposedly plenty of vampires and other hellspawn in Sunnydale, but of course not as many as in Los Angeles. That was a place he wouldn't willingly stop in again... even passing through was questionable. The whole city was infused with the most horrible psychic miasma, it choked out the light of everyone there. The desk clerk looked at him oddly as he shuddered at the memory of LA... Paul just shrugged and took the package he had sent ahead to meet him here.
He picked up his rental 'cycle and spent a couple of days driving around the town, though there wasn't a great deal to see. But, it at least was there. Supposedly not long ago, this was just a smoking crater. All seemed well, though... at least so far as the buildings and the people went. There was only the expected amount of new construction, and the streets were the usual mess of a non-planned city. Paul could feel the sleeping darkness, though... an undercurrent of malice waiting to be released. Certainly there was plenty of wakeful evil too, though. He saw them at all hours of the day, but of course mostly at night. HE rarely met their gaze, but he could see the hungry eyes of the vampires moving over people... searching, always searching for something to quench their eternal thirst.
Where would she be, the maiden... if she was even here? Might she not be some vampire's slave already? Surely her blood would be full of delicious energy. The very thought made it more important that he find her as soon as possible.
Paulo had seen an interesting spot, a club called "The Bronze". It seemed to have a younger clientle, though he had seen all sorts of interesting auras going in and out as well. It seemed a good place... he could hang there and listen to people talk. He had no idea what this girl would look like, not anything about her... but surely she would be distinctive somehow. Someone would let something slip eventually. He had left his bike at the motel and took a city bus near to the club. This was probably risky, he told himself. No backup and no way to get away quickly in case of everwhelming odds. But, he was in a bit of a fey mood.
He had no trouble getting in the door. He was of age, though he had a bit of a babyface. His ID checked out... the fake one he had sent himself from DC. It was a professional job anyway, so the local bouncer really had no reason to suspect anything. The Bronze was crowded, people dancing and drinking their lives and money away. Predators were here too, he could feel them. He tried not to stare, but there were times when it was extremely difficult not to turn to face the empty pit in space he would pass, when he knew there was someone there.
Paul headed for the bar, a drink would help his resolve... and likely the club would frown on patrons who didn't order anything. Nearing the line of people sitting there, his path was blocked by a man harassing what had to be assumed as someone who worked there. At first Paul hoped they would settle their differences and move, but then the man grabbed the waitress' arm.
"I won't take no for an answer." he said.
Paulo stepped forward at that, trying to put himself between the two of them. "The lady said no, man. Let go." he began to draw energy, to use in his shield if need be... he put just enough in it to give his potential foe a hit of a surprise in case of a fight.
At least he'd get his gold star for the day.

At the grip on her arm, Tanwyn cringed slightly but didn't make any noise, instead simply frowning at the disagreeable patron who she'd rather was over the other side of the room with his fellow blood suckers. She attempted to move, but he had a firm hold while he grinned wolfishly at her.
When someone else had stepped in, Tanwyn felt a little relieved, but also slightly worried because that meant there coule end up being trouble. The last thing they needed was another brawl to take place in the Bronze, they had enough of them going on regularly. However, she also felt a trickle of power from the would-be rescuer, and watched him curiously.
The vampire simply huffed and gave the intruding man a once over, before grinning at him, "No harm meant, I just want to take the little lady for a drink once she's off the books." He released her arm, but forcefully, and as she shifted back from the force, Tanwyn found herself bumping into another patron behind her, causing her to trip and drop the stack of glasses she was holding. A crash of shattering glass silenced the club for a moment, and the vampire disappeared into the crowd, back to where his friends were.
Tanwyn sighed, moving to stand as another girl ran out with a broom, but and accidentally cut herself on a shard. The girl helped her up and huffed, "Geez, some customers are just plain rude. Honey, you're cut!" And between the woman's exclamation and the scent of blood, Tanwyn could feel every pair of undead eyes in the club focussed on her. Just what she needed.
As she stood, she inspected the cut. It was only small, and she pulled a small adhesive bandage from her pocket, "Its okay, its nothing, let me help."
"No way! You go sit down right now!" The other woman pushed Tanwyn with a chuckle, then motioned toward the young man who'd helped her and winked, though the younger woman was completely oblivious to what that was supposed to have meant.
However, she did turn to her rescuer, and smiled appreciately, "Thank you. Though I think it may have caused you more trouble than its worth." She glanced quickly to the other side of the room where the group of vampires were watching from. "It looks like I'm taking a break, so let me get you a drink to repay you."

Paul smiled, hopefully reassuringly. "No need to repay me, really. I'm Paul, by the way. No trouble."
He looked at the woman's hand, but didn't try to touch her and certainly not to grab her and inspect the wound. "You're allright?"
His gaze followed hers for a moment towards the knot of people. "May I join you for a bit?"
