Ok, so I seemingly poofed last night, and here's what happened. It was BIZARRE!
Dad recently got a new laptop to tide him over until he can do a major upgrade & get a new desktop. Last night he unsecured our connection just to get the laptop to read it, and POOF, I'm offline. So he switches it back. Still offline. WTF?
We tried EVERYTHING, including a system restore on all 3 comps. Still nothing. The laptop I use flat refused to connect, though it read the connection and everything was set up correctly. We even tried manually connecting. Seriously, we tried everything. The last thing I said in the Cbox was the last time I had connection. We were on it for HOURS trying to figure out how the hell that happened, not to mention WHAT happened. I was in the middle of a post too...not just chatting in the Cbox.
Anyway, he called Cable One this morning, and we're back online. YAY! Double bonus...we changed the channel we use so that now when the land line rings I won't be kicked off the Wi-Fi. Moving to another channel for the Wi-Fi connection fixed the frequency issue too.
So, my apologies to everyone I was talking with and such for the sudden disappearance. Just a really, REALLY weird occurance. LoL.
