History:Phedre was raised in a family of boys, Her brothers Jayden, Lucas and Joscelin were all older than she was, her parents had kept trying until they had the girl they wanted. Phedre wasn't much for studies but she did so love gymnastics, often spending hours at a time working on the routines her gym instructor set out. The boys all rough housed with her and teased her relentlessly as boys do, so her parents kept telling her, she toughened up to them around the age of 14. Jayden had stolen one of Phedres books and she lost her temper, smacking him hard enough that his lip split and his cheek bruised from the impact. After that the boys knew better than to mess with her. Her nickname through school was Meimei, mainly because the boys called her it whenever they were around. Once she started to fill out Joscelin stopped calling her by her nickname but the others continued. She became closest to Joscelin because she knew he saw more in her than just a little sister, he recognised the potential for the woman she could be. After her run in with Jayden, Joscelin came to her and offered some weapons training that he had undertaken, it centred around forms with daggers and a sword, not much use against guns but in hand to hand combat the forms were unbeatable. Phedre saw the offer for what it was, a way to connect at a deeper level and she readily undertook the training. It was hard going at first, even though she had been a gymnast her body was not built for the strength she was demanding of it. The first few weeks bled together in a blur of pain, the endurance she earned would serve her well in later life. Fighting with herself to improve the following 2yrs were spent under close supervision of Joscelin, he nurtured the warrior in her, pushing her to her limits and forcing her to strive for more than her body could handle. Her skill with the sword was slower to develop than the daggers. One afternoon she returned late from school to find the whole family gathered in tears, all except Lucas, he had been attacked on his way home, the mugger had beaten him unconcious and stolen his wallet, no one had passed by for 20 minutes by which time the broken rib had punctured his lung and he drowned from his own blood. The funeral was a week later, she wore white, standing out like a sore thumb against the sea of black dresses and suits. Her mother had begged her not to, but she reminded her that she was his Meimei and she would honour his memory as he always knew her, most of the ceremony was dull and lifeless like the stiff body of her brother in its box, her speech was not. Phedres words touched every person there as she swore her oath of vengence for the agony her family had been put through. The cops never caught up with the asshole that did it but she did, he had been in a bar, recognising the wallet but she had to be sure, sidling up to him she asked his name, he was posing as the card holder so called himself Lucas. Luring him outside with the offer of a one night stand, the sweet look of horror on his face as she slid the blade between his ribs, puncturing his heart. The begging look he gave sated her bloodlust. When Phedre told the family that she had found the killer and despatched him to his own grave, Joscelin grew cold, he vowed never to teach her again. Feeling deserted she moved out of the family home. Phedre still devotes the first hour after waking to her brothers' teachings.
