Things have been quiet around here lately. Too quiet.
RavenHex has disappeared, as she sometimes does, I can only assume to study her dark path away from prying eyes.
Mother's got a couple 'friends' over, and they've retired to her rooms by this time.
So it's just me and Pooka.
Pooka, is a Pooka. A black Cat with Batwings, and startling yellow eyes.
He's my familiar, and loving companion, almost always there when no one else is around.
John's not even available right now, I believe he went to a comicbook convention, or something.
Nothing to fight, no one around to love, and even in a castle as big as ours, I find myself feeling rather cooped up suddenly.
Going out for a more Mundane purpose, I leave my ritual armor at home, instead donning a flowing purple gown, adorned with a few protective amulets and rings on my fingers.
With my long red hair flowing free, I'm fit for a walk around town.
Salem is a place steeped in as much Witchcraft as Christianity, and the mix comes out very interesting in the people walking down the street.
I see Witches proudly walking about in full display of their pentacles, as well as others flaunting crosses, and some not even clear as to which religion they hail from.
Though it hasn't always been this way, the town's own history shames more modern inhabitants into tolerance. Even if from some, it's still a stiff forced Tolerance.
Walking along the busy street, I let the more human element wrap around me for once.
Earth, Air, Fire, Water, All a part of everything. But here, in the thick of the streets, I can feel the Spirit that encompasses it all.
It's been a long time since I have dropped my armor, to walk around as a normal woman, among people and not just Nature herself.
Though I am between this World, and another, I am still a part of this one, and sometimes I need a mundane reminder.
Stopping at a street booth, I pay the vender for a soft pretzel, and sit on an iron bench as I munch on it, happy to just feel the people as they go by.
It's a beautiful day out really. Glad I found a bench in the shade.
