This topic is mainly for staffers, but I think everyone should be aware of how this is going to run now. We've incorporated 2 new subboards with the Commit board, both are for approved character apps. After approving an application, the thread will be locked and moved to the appropriate board, ie. either canon or orignal. I did modify our bio application to include a section for them to add whether the char is one or the other.
Just in case there is any confusion on what is canon specifically, here's the scoop.
*Any character that appears in a TV series, movie, video game, novel, etc. is canon. I don't care how minor or major the role they played is. On MD, that will make them a canon.
*Any creation of a VTM or similar LARP, should also be considered as a canon, unless otherwise stated in the character application. Simply because most often, the characters in those role plays are all original, but made to fit with the guidelines within said LARP. Hence a canonical role. If the character applies to an LARP-verse, please add their bloodline or clan in the custom title area. So a VTM Malkavian, for example would be under the Vampire or Vampiress, with the custom title "Malkavian". And so forth. These chars may say original in the application, but there should also be a not in the bio about them being a Ventrue, Malkavian, etc. (I use the VTM as an example because I know that LARP better than others, LoL. But you should get the idea.) If such a char bio is placed in the original section from an LARP genre, that is ok, but I would rather have them listed as canon.
*This does NOT apply to original chars that are based on any other verse...ONLY LARP genres. Original chars based on BTVS, Charmed, Anne Rice, Laurell K, Kim Harrison, ect. ect. ect....are still original chars.
We'll be implimenting some other things on the board to streamline it a bit, but none of it should affect the RP, or the way things are run on MD over-all. Rules, etc. will remain the same. We're just going to make things easier to find, as I've already started doing by placing certain "verses" in related boards within the categories.
I may add more to this later, but for now, it's just a lil note to let you all know what the haps is.
