First Name: Alice (She goes by Paine, however. Don't expect her to answer to her birthname.)
Middle Name: Paine
Last Name: Sepia (Her adoptive parent's last name.)
Age: 29
Height/Weight: 5'8", 150 lbs.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Currently dyed red.
Character description: Paine isn't your typical girl next door. She's antisocial, flirtatious, caustic, moody, and sarcastic. She doesn't like society's rules, and never was one for authority figures. Her adoptive parent's couldn't deal with her powers, so she spent her childhood and adolescence in an institution with other mutants. This only served to further her antisocial qualities, and hence she was deemed by the psychologist on staff as a sociopath.
Persuasion: (good evil neutral) Does it matter?
Type of Creature: Born Mutant
Powers: Paine is a telekenetic. Primarily it was considered her only power, however she also showed signs of other mutations during her adolescence. She can alter the molecular structure of her skin to a near impenetrable armor, and can use her telekenesis to take flight. She also has pyrokenetic abilites, which came on at the age of 16 during a surge of anger. When highly aggitated, Paine is able to create and manipulate fire. Like a lot of other mutants, she has heightened senses and natural abilities such as strength, speed, and agility.
History: I don't know where I was born, or who my real parents are, only that they were both mutants. That's pretty fucking obvious considering my abilities. I was found dumped in an alley near a clinic, how's that for parental affection? For the first few months of my life, I lived in that clinic, until an adoption agency had an opening. After 3 years there, I was adopted by the Sepia's. At first, things were, well, normal I guess. Until my powers began manifesting, or rather manifesting around other people. Ok, so sometimes someone got hurt. But hey, I was a kid, I didn't know what I was doing or how to control it. A temper tantrum turned into a tornado of flying objects. Mr. and Mrs. Sepia decided the best way to deal with my "outbursts" was to enroll me in a special school. Really, it was just an institution for other freaks like me.
In the instituion I not only had to attend school, but deal with countless tests from nameless, faceless doctors. Everything from monthly physicals to weekly psych appointments.
When I turned 18, I got the hell out of there. I'd caused enough trouble that they weren't sorry to see me go. As a legal adult, they couldn't keep me against my will, or maybe they were scared too, having experienced first hand what I'm capable of.
I hitched rides when I didn't just use my teke to fly here or there. I hit L.A. and worked as an exotic dancer to make ends meet. I had a nice little apartment, a job that didn't suck too bad, and other than that a quiet life. I guess I started looking for my parents when I turned 22. I was done with the club scene, dancing only paid so much, and I wasn't becoming a whore just for money. I'd had some rough nights, John's that decided because I took my clothes off on stage, they could rip them off backstage. I couldn't tell you the number of times I was raped. But I can tell you that every single one of those John's suffered later at my hand.
I started using my abilities to break into banks, museums, steal cars. Anything that gave me a thrill, made me feel alive. I could hack into almost any computer, and funneled more money than I'd ever need into off shore bank accounts under false names. And yet, I keep coming up short when I search for my birth parents. When mutants go underground, they get lost. And it's not like anyone's going to just call me up and tell me who they were. I don't even know if I have siblings out there. Hell, maybe they're all together somewhere, living a great life, a happy family. Maybe I'm just too fucked up, and would ruin their pretty little ideals. That's something to think about.
Character is from (series, book, creator, or author, if it applies): Original, spurred by Freya's character.
