Dante from Devil May CryPersonal belongings/weaponry:
A sword named Rebellion he inherited from his demon father, Sparda that was forged in hellfire. When the sword is awakened, it's decorative hilt changes from a skeletal demonic face with a closed mouth, to one with an open mouth and enhanced horns. The swords name means "resistance", and it is able to transfer the powers of a demon slain by it's blade to the weilder.Personality:
2 guns, Ebony & Ivory. Ivory is his right gun, custom built for rapid firing. Various parts are rounded to ensure a fast draw. Ebony is his left gun, modified for long distance targeting, it's designed for comfort and accuracy.
Dante may come off cold and callous to the casual observer. He's not a talker, at least not to strangers, and is often crude and blunt.Likes:
He battles within himself, being the son of a demon father, and a mortal mother killed at the demon's hands. Dante's inner battle is between his two natures, his demonic side versus his human nature. The humanity in him allows him to care for others, even while he detests it and see it as a weakness.
Chaos, disorder, Lucy, death, murder, mayhem, bloodshed.Dislikes:
Order, good, humanity, kindness...Strengths:
Dante is exceptionally strong and agile. His demonic nature lends him not only metaphysical abilities, but strength, endurance, and agility that can match that of a Slayer. Given time, he can heal all but a mortal wound, provided he retreats to Hell for healing, or takes a potion made by an evil witch.Weaknesses:
Good, of course. It can often times appeal to his human nature, and drive him momentarily insane. His nature is already divided, one that knows his weakness can prey on it, weakening Dante to the point of insanity or a retreat.Special Abilities:
Dante is a spectacular swordsman, Rebellion being his only sword. With this sword he is able to absorb the powers of other demons as his own for a time. (About a week until the powers lapse back into the sword alone. Then Dante himself no longer carries the power, but the sword will, and can use said power if it's awakened.) He's a skilled marksman, and can hit any target, no matter how impossible it may seem. Both of his guns are modified specifically for him, each having it's own purpose and working well in tandem. Dante is fast, agile, and strong, he also possesses great endurance. Due to his demonic nature, he can jump higher, run faster, throw and hit harder than a mortal. However, he is not invincible.History:
He is able to open portals as his way of disposing of the bodies he would otherwise pile up.
Dante was born to a mortal mother, who was killed when he was an infant by his demonic father, Sparda. He was raised in a Hell dimension and trained as a mercenary. When Dante came of age, 18 in human years, he was sent 'topside' and employed by Wolfram & Hart. Not as a lawyer, but as a mercenary. It was his duty to track down and kill those who opposed Wolfram & Hart, the Senior Partners, or those that went rogue from the company. He was paid well for his missions.Sample RP:
It was during one of his missions that he met another demon, Lucy, and the two quickly fell in love. Even demons can love, especially if one's half human. Lucy wasn't daunted by his split nature, and in fact has helped him more than once come to terms within himself.
Dante went off on his own when Wolfram & Hart began to pursue Angel, however Dante's name is still on their rosters as a mercenary for hire. He has yet to come up against the Slayers or their friends, but found that Sunnydale was ripe for his work. Demons and humans alike were waiting for him to end it all, whether they knew it or not. And contract killers may come a dime a dozen, but Dante never fails.
It was a cool spring morning as Dante crouched low on the tree branch, a good 15 feet above ground. He was positioned outside of Sunnydale High School, his mission to take out the new math teacher. This math teacher was a demon spawn, one who left her place in Hell to pursue a career and a life without evil. Dante slid Ebony from it's holster and checked the clip. It was full, he knew it was. He never left the house without fully loaded weapons. Sliding the clip back home, he whipped his head up as the bell rang.
All he needed was one clear shot at the target. He waited, Ebony poised in his grip, his eye focused like that of a hawk's as he stalked his target. She weaved through the throngs of children, angling for the far side of the school. He had one chance. As soon as the bullet left the chamber, Dante was out of the tree and sprinting toward the building. He dropped Ebony back into it's holster and pulled Ivory. He pressed himself back against the wall, gun gripped with both hands, pointed skyward. Moving with his gun first, he turned the corner, and found his target lying before him. She lay on her back, the grass beside her flat. She'd rolled over. The bullet wound was in her back, the bullet itself lodged in her heart.
Without blinking, even as she sobbed and begged, Dante aimed Ivory point blank at her skull and pulled the trigger. The report was loud, but not heard over the milling children that shouted and spoke loudly to each other as they left campus. Grabbing the dead demon by her hair, Dante opened a portal and shoved her body through. "Another day, another dollar." He slid Ivory into her holster, and turned, heading back to the man who hired him for this kill. It was time to collect his payment.
