It seemed like the world had ended when the Opéra Populaire burned to the ground. Many lost their lives and their jobs, creating catastrophe in the lives of the employees. All people knew was that the Opéra was gone, the Daaé girl had disappeared along with the Vicomte de Chagny and the Opéra Ghost was nowhere to be found. Little did they know, he was still alive and well, just hiding beneath the ashes, wallowing in his misery over the loss of his Christine.
A year later, Madame Giry had died from an illness and brought Meg into a small depression. Her mother was all she had and now she was gone forever and it brought Meg more sadness that she was the only guest at the funeral. She was until another person came, a man covered in black who came when they were putting her mother in the grave. The man begged to remain a mystery until Meg finally convinced him to reveal himself. When the hood was removed she found it was the Phantom of the Opera, Erik, who she had never seen. After a few moments of talking, Erik found little Meg without a home and felt like he must take her in as a service to the deceased Madame. Little did he know, they would soon be falling in love.
After a year courting each other, Erik proposed to Meg, which she gladly accepted and they were wed a few months later, with Erik wearing a new mask, one that blended in with his skin and made him look more normal and a new name, Charles (after his father, which he was supposed to be named for.) Destler. Soon Erik would be putting out new operas to the world which became very popular and bring him enough wealth to buy the Opéra grounds, redesign and rebuild the spectacular Opéra Populaire.
On the fifth anniversary of the Opéra fire, the opera house was officially completed and accepting new employees, singers, orchestra members and patrons. The opera that would be performed would be a new opera written by Erik that no one knows the plot to, not even Meg. But soon the past would come back to Erik when Christine and Raoul move back to Paris from England and become patrons to the Opéra and rekindle their friendship with Meg. Christine and Raoul have no idea Charles is Erik and think the past is behind them. Meg begins to worry for Erik, hoping that Christine wouldn’t bring his old madness with her and Erik hopes that the past will die.
Will their dreams come true or will they be dashed with one look behind the mask? Phans, the time for role play has begun…
